An introduction to the New Zealand Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) and the Industry Capability Network (ICN). These free services assist New Zealand businesses to access government and commercial contract opportunities.
The New Zealand Government has an electronic tender service. Businesses and commercial suppliers can register to be notified by email of the latest government tender opportunities. Registered users can also personalise the types and categories of tenders they wish to be kept informed of. The service is free and you can find out more and register at www.gets.govt.nz.
The industry Capability Network (ICN) is made up of industry consultants who assist New Zealand and Australian manufacturing and technology companies with access to government and commercial opportunities. ICN identifies procurement opportunities from major projects and uses its knowledge of industry to nominate capable local companies for supply.
The service is free of charge and is aimed at encouraging local industry participation in major projects. All you need to do is register your company details and capabilities with ICN by following the Supplier Registration process on their website www.icn.govt.nz.
