Many New Zealand businesses, especially new or growing ones, need extra investment from time to time. If your business has potential, or you're developing a new product, expanding into new markets, carrying out research, or looking to employ extra staff, you may be eligible for financial help such as grants from Government or industry organisations.

New single fund to assist New Zealand businesses Opens in a new window

The Government have announced a new flexible grant to assist New Zealand businesses growing globally. From 1 July 2009, there will be one single fund offered by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. The fund will target businesses with high growth potential or who have an established global presence and wish to expand their operations. The three existing NZTE grant programmes are being consolidated into the new single fund.

Improve your business capability with the help of expert advice. New Zealand Trade and Enterprise offers grants up to NZD$20,000 to help increase the skills and expertise of small businesses. Activities eligible for funding include mentoring, business planning and e-commerce strategies.

If your business is exporting, or about to start, you could be eligible for a Market Development grant. You can apply for funding of up to NZD$100,000 per year, for up to five years, to help your business expand into new international markets.
