Step one - igovt logon

The Companies Office now uses the igovt logon service. 

Essentially igovt allows clients to use the same logon (username, password) across various government online services that are part of the igovt programme.  This saves you from having to remember multiple logon details for different services.

If you already have an igovt logon you won't need to create a new one, simply Log on and enter your user name and password.

  Note 

If you have used any of our online services after 28 June 2010 then you should already have an igovt logon for the website.  If you are unsure if you have a logon you can use the Forgot my username? service on the igovt logon page.  You then enter your email address and igovt will check whether it is registered with them for a logon.

If you need an igovt logon you can Register to create one from our website.

The key steps to registering

To obtain an igovt logon choose the Register link in the top right hand corner of the Companies Office website.  This will take you to the igovt website where you can create an igovt logon. 

As a new user you will be required to

• choose an igovt username (between four and 64 characters),
• enter your email address, and
• enter a password.  Note | Your password must be at least seven characters long and contain at least one capital letter (A-Z), one lower case letter (a-z) and one number (0-9). 

Once you have completed this section you will be asked to enter the characters you see in the image - this helps to avoid any spam.

At this point you have created your igovt logon. 

Security questions

The last step in this process is to answer some security questions.  These will be used if you need to contact the igovt logon service to reset your password.  These are standard questions like: ‘What was the name of your first pet?’ or ‘What was your Mother’s maiden name?’.

When you have completed the security questions you will see a confirmation screen and then the website will take you directly back to the Companies Office website where you need to create your Companies Office account (Step two).

Already have an igovt logon?

If you already have an igovt logon that you use elsewhere choose the Log on link - in the top right hand corner of the Companies Office website - and enter your existing igovt username and password. 

You will still need to complete step two and create your new Companies Office Account (Logon).
