Transferring a name reservation

If you reserve a company name and decide that another person or organisation will complete the process of incorporating the company, you can provide them with the name reservation details and they can transfer the name reservation to their logon.

To transfer a company name reservation, the person who will be completing the incorporation should complete the transferring process.

Note I There is no fee required to transfer a company name reservation.

The steps for transferring the name reservation

1. From the Online Services - Do It Now menu choose Transfer a Name Reservation.
2. Enter the company name reservation number in the field provided.  The name reservation number is sent via email to the person who successfully reserved the company name.
3. Click on the Check Name button.  The reserved company name will appear under the reservation number.  This will help you to confirm that you have the correct company name.
4. Confirm the contact details shown on the screen are correct by clicking on the Submit button.
5. A confirmation screen with the proposed changes will display, click on Confirm.
6. A summary screen will display the changes that have been actioned.

Note I Confirmation of the transfer will be sent via email to both the person who actioned the change and to the person who originally reserved the name.

The name reservation task will no longer appear in the My Unfinished Business of the person who originally reserved the name.
