What happens next?

When we have processed your application we will send you an email confirming whether or not the name has been reserved.  If your application has been successful you will need to retain the name reservation letter - it contains information you will need to refer to again later.

You will need a valid email address and access to a computer that can open PDF documents.

To download and view the name reservation you will need PDF viewing software.

You can also access the name approval using the My Unfinished Business tool on your personalised dashboard.

Your next steps 

You must use the name to incorporate a new company or change the name of an existing company within 20 working days.

If you find you're running out of time - on the 19th or 20th working days you can extend your name reservation for a further 20 working days.

Note | If the name is not used or withdrawn within 20 working days, the name will be forfeited and you will need to reapply and pay another NZ$10.22 application fee.
