What information is available online?
The Companies Office website contains information on entities. Using the Search the register option you can search for:
- New Zealand companies (limited, unlimited and co-operative companies) and
- Overseas companies registered as carrying on business in New Zealand (both Australian overseas companies (ASIC) and other overseas companies).
From the Search Results screen select a company to view and you will see:
Company details
The company details screen summarises a range of information about each company and, with the exception of the PPSR Search option, is all available online for FREE.
Any changes to a company's registered information is updated on the 'Company details' screen in real time.
Company summary
- Company number, incorporation date, company name, status, entity type, constitution filed (Yes/No), annual return filing month, company addresses (registered office and address for service) and company directors (first two directors)
- Optional extra information about the company - such as the company's logo, trading name, website address, and other contact details.
Addresses
- Current and historical addresses for all addresses recorded for the company - registered office, service, records, and the share register.
Directors
- For each director - their full legal name, residential address, date of appointment and copy of their consent form. Also flags whether they are a shareholder.
Shareholdings
- Total number of shares held, the name of the each shareholder and the number of shares allocated to them. Also flags whether they are a director.
Documents
- All registered documents (for example, director consents, constitutions, annual returns)
PPSR Search
- To search the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) for any financing statements that have been registered under the company's incorporation number.
Other entities
To search for other entities (such as Industrial and Provident Societies, Limited Partnerships, Friendly Societies, Credit Unions, etc) use the Search Other Registers option.
