Company addresses
Mandatory addresses
A company must have:
- a registered office,
- an address for service, and
- an address for communication.
The address of the registered office and the address for service must be physical addresses in New Zealand. That is, a street address, not a Post Office Box or DX address.
The address for communication may be a postal or physical address (but not a DX) and must include an email address.
Phone numbers (optional)
You can add some contact phone, mobile and fax numbers for the company but these are optional.
Annual return filing month
In this step you also choose your annual return filing month. The system will choose a month for you but using the drop-down list you change this to any month from February to November.
Optional addresses
The address for share register and address for records are optional. They are used by some companies but only rarely.
Address verification (PAF)
The system will check the addresses used to ensure they match an address recorded on the NZ Post database. If the address you want to enter is not yet included in that database you will have the option of entering it manually.
