Qualification changes
In the situation where changes relating to a financial service provider (FSP) occur, section 17 of the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008 sets out the duty for certain persons to notify the Registrar of the change.
An FSP is required to notify the Registrar if the provider knows that the provider is no longer qualified for registration in accordance with section 13 of the Act.
The Registrar must be notified of any changes within ten working days of the person being made aware of the change. If a provider fails to advise the Registrar of a qualification change the provider commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding NZ$10,000.
