Regional Business Partners
A network of 14 Regional Business Partners work to support business growth and innovation in their regions and are a natural first point of contact for businesses around New Zealand seeking government assistance.
NZTE and the Ministry of Science and Innovation ( MSI) fund the Regional Business Partners to employ staff with business development skills and research and development (R&D) expertise.
The partners work with local businesses and provide a range of advice and access to funding and support for assisting them to grow their business. Support available includes:
- An assessment of business needs, which helps Regional Business Partners point businesses to appropriate information, advice, and support that is available from the public and private sectors.
- NZTE Capability Development Vouchers, which the managers of eligible small businesses can use as partial payment for the cost of management capability building services.
- Research and development funding via MSI’s TechNZ programme of funds and services.
The aim is to make it easier for business owners and managers to understand what steps they should take to grow their business, and where to find information and assistance to do so.
