Quad bike safety

[image] Quad bike safety banner.

Quad bike injuries can be prevented - they aren't part of the job. Quad bikes are not all terrain vehicles - they can't go everywhere, do everything.

Respect their limits, and make sure everyone on your farm follows these safety steps:

Farmers have the same duties under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 as other employers. Farmers who don’t follow these safety steps risk penalties under the Health and Safety in Employment Act if someone working on their farm is seriously injured or killed.

WorkSafe New Zealand's quad bike safety project is part of the Agriculture Sector Action Plan.

Did you know?

Quad bikes are involved in approximately 28% of all work-related farm deaths.

PLEASE NOTE

On Monday 4 April 2016, the New Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) came into effect.

HSWA repeals the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, with immediate effect.

All references to the 1992 Act on this website and within our guidance will be progressively removed.
