The team at AbelTasman.com believe that enjoying the stunning environment they promote goes hand in hand with protecting it. At their holiday park, in Mārahau, they’re working hard to minimise waste.
They’ve designed and commissioned a custom-built recycling trailer. This makes it simple to collect, separate, and transport recyclables. Once the bins are full, the trailer’s hitched to a vehicle and towed to the local recycling centre.
In the first year, the new system reduced waste to landfill by 60%. That was cut by another 25% the following year.
