Research and Development Tax Incentive (RDTI)
With the Research and Development Tax Incentive (RDTI) you can get a tax credit equal to 15% of eligible R&D expenditure.
The RDTI is about encouraging R&D that pushes beyond existing scientific and technological barriers, and does this in a way that’s both systematic and with a specific goal in mind.

New to Research and Development (R&D) Grant
The New to R&D Grant supports you at the “getting started” stage of your innovation journey.
It can be suitable when you have formed a business around an exciting new idea or concept, are looking for some initial research and development funding, and would benefit from starting your own in-house R&D to put you on the path towards commercial success.

Startup and Founder Support
The Startup and Founder Support programme has transferred to Innovation Services, administered by MBIE, and provides funding for trusted delivery partners.
Free early-stage coaching, and incubators and accelerators, are available for ambitious startups with high-growth potential.
These programmes are ideal if you want to turbo-charge your growth, receive wrap-around mentoring and coaching, and build skills and connections, including for market analysis and validation, financial planning and capital-raising, and marketing and sales.
Research and Development (R&D) Career Grants
This grant provides funding towards six months' salary - up to $30K for a Masters graduate and up to $35K for a PhD graduate. Conditions apply.
Research and Development (R&D) Experience Grants
This grant was created to fund innovative businesses to employ tertiary-level students (NZQA levels 6-10) as full-time interns over their summer break, and help prepare them for their own innovative careers.
