The APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) is ideal if you are a New Zealand citizen and travel frequently for trade, investment or service delivery across the APEC region.
With the card, you can enter participating APEC economies without applying for a separate visa for every trip.
You'll also have access to dedicated APEC lanes at major airports, helping make arrivals and departures faster and more efficient.
If your business relies on regular travel, especially at short notice, the card can help you spend less time on paperwork and more time focused on your customers, suppliers and business opportunities.
Check if you are eligible
You can apply for an ABTC if you're a New Zealand citizen with a valid passport and a genuine need for frequent short-term business travel.
You must also meet character requirements and be pre-cleared by participating APEC economies.
The application fee is NZ$150, and processing can take up to 6 months because each participating country must approve your application.
The participating APEC countries are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, People's Republic of China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, The Philippines, Republic of Korea, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, The United States and Viet Nam.
