Did you miss your 7 July tax return?

Income tax returns were due by 7 July. If you have missed this date, make sure you file as soon as possible.

The quickest and easiest way to file your income tax return is to do it online, using myIR. If you don’t have a myIR account, you can register for one on the Inland Revenue website.

Filing online using myIR means the details Inland Revenue already holds for you, or the organisation you’re filing for, will be pre-populated.

You’ll receive immediate confirmation that your return has been received.

In case you missed it: KiwiSaver changes from 1 July

In June’s newsletter we included information about changes to KiwiSaver. Check out our summary so that you understand what happened on 1 July, and prepare for changes in 2026.

Business.govt.nz makes it easier for small businesses in New Zealand to understand and comply with government, and succeed. We do this by packaging content and advice from across government into tools and resources designed with small business in mind.
