Taking passengers to nature – while protecting it
Zealandia is an ecosanctuary in the heart of Wellington. It’s been Toitū carbonzero certified for several years.
In 2018, it launched the country's first fully electric passenger minibuses. They replaced a diesel-powered van used to shuttle visitors between the city and the sanctuary. Since then, the two minibuses have carried close to 40,000 passengers and travelled over 90,000km. They’ve successfully proven that electric vehicles work well for this use.
The minibuses also eliminate over 14 tonnes of emissions each year through less diesel use.
